About Us

We knew, long before we broke ground in 2016, that we would use part of our basement as a studio to serve the members of our community. By keeping overhead low, our costs also stay low, making classes more affordable for families.

For the convenience of our families, there is a separate entrance on the East side of our home and a small waiting room where a few parents may sit and observe classes.

Rachelle Upwall

Rachelle's primary  background is in business management and organizational leadership. She was first introduced to the dance industry 8 years ago when her daughter started taking dance at a recreational level. Four years ago she had the opportunity to manage a basement studio and took it from a "three-ring binder notebook hobby" to a fully automated, well established business for the owner. She started Uplift Dance Studio in June 2018 to serve the families of Eagle Mountain and give them a place where their children can receive high level instruction without the time and expense involved with the competition dance industry. In her 14 years of parenting she has been a stay at home mom, working mom, and work-from-home mom. She continually pulls on those experiences to ensure that schedules and classes can work with even the busiest of schedules. Her primary goal with Uplift is to ensure that everyone who walks through the door leave feeling a little brighter and happier then when they walked in. She loves meeting new people, collaborating with business owners, teachers and those in and out of the industry to continually find innovate ways to best serve our families. "We rise by lifting others" is a driving motivation behind much of what she does to serve her family, teachers, dancers and community.

Brittany Temple

Artistic Director / Hip Hop & Contemporary Instructor

Brittany has been dancing since the age of 4! She is trained primarily in Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop. As a teen she trained in Los Angeles as part of a dance company that competed as well as performed at various events. She started her teaching career soon after which lead to her love and passion for choreography. As a choreographer she was fortunate enough to work with multiple music artists choreographing for live performances and music videos. Her work was seen on such networks as The Style Network, E! and MTV. As fun as the dance industry was in LA, Family comes first and with a growing family came her move to Utah! Since moving, she has started her own small dance company called Organic Movement (who she can proudly say just had the opportunity to perform at Stadium Of Fire and also just took part in a short film for Operation Underground Railroad) In all her years as a dancer she has realized that teaching is what fills her cup most of all. Of all the jobs she has had, nothing is more rewarding than watching a student succeed. Every student she has ever taught holds a very special place in her heart.

Keira Thomson

Jazz / Ballet & Tumbling Instructor

Keira Thomson and I am so excited to be teaching your student. I danced for 13 years when I was younger and loved every minute of it. I  like to sing and have always had a love for music. It's amazing how dance can let you express your feelings through music.  I was a cheerleader and taught competitive cheer leading for six years. I have a love for teaching in general and was a paraprofessional at elementary schools for six years. I was also going to school in Elementary Education before stopping to raise my children. I love being a mom and teaching my children. Some other hobbies are painting, crafting, shopping, and doing nails. I enjoy watching children grow and learn, and have learned so much from all my students. I can't wait to teach your child, and learn from them as well as have them learn from me

Autumn Schoemig

Jazz / Ballet Instructor

Autumn Schoemig is a dance instructor based in Cedar Hills, Utah.  She started dancing when she was six years old and was trained in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern since that age. She went on to be apart of Mountain Ridge Junior High’s Dance Company and Lone Peak High School’s Dance Company. She was elected President of Lone Peak’s Dance Company her senior year. And she was able to go to the National High School Dance Festival with them.  Autumn went to Snow College for a year, on scholarship, studying Modern dance. She got to attend the American Dance College Association Festival with them. Autumn is also currently studying Martial Arts and will be earning her black belt in the next year. Autumn has also just returned from serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 18 months in West Virginia/Virginia. Autumn’s dream since being a little girl has been to teach others the joy of dance and help them to build their confidence.

Angelee Aedo

Jazz / Ballet Instructor

Angelee has danced for most of her life. She started getting more serious about dance when she was 12 years old. She did competitive dance and has background in jazz, ballet, contemporary, American clog, high kick and musical theater. She has participated in and directed several plays and musicals. While a teenager, she competed in many competitions and performed at many different events.  In college at Brigham Young University, she trained in ballroom dance and dance fitness. While at BYU and Western Governor’s University, she worked on a secondary mathematics education degree and has countless hours of classroom experience. She considers one of her strengths to be the ability to discover how each child learns and cater their education to them in that way. This applies to all types of teaching, whether in a  dance studio or in a classroom setting. She is a mom to five children. She has many other hobbies, some of which are: singing, crafting, cooking and planning events. She is looking forward to teaching your children!

Alex Meier

Class Assistant

Alex has been dancing for seven years now. She has done both recreational dance and competitive dance. Her favorite dance styles are contemporary and hip hop.

Alex is your typical fun outgoing teenager who loves to laugh and have fun! She loves everyone around her and is a friend to all! Some of her favorite pass times are singing, doing makeup, and watching documentaries. Hanging with friends is her top favorite.

Erica Miller

Child Development Specialist - emphasis in special education

Erica fell into special education when she was offered a position at New Hope Academy, a Utah County school for children with developmental and behavioral disorders. She worked to combine her decade long health and fitness experience with scientific developments in trauma recovery by reading books and studies and attending seminars and workshops with industry experts. Erica got first-hand experience applying those best practices at school with her students and at home after her son was diagnosed with auditory and sensory-processing, attachment and autism spectrum disorders.  Erica enjoys mentoring special needs children, teaching yoga, and coaching parents as an IEP advocate. Erica believes in empowering individuals with compassionate solutions to complicated problems.

Lauren Nielson

High Fitness Instructor

Hi! I’m Lauren Nielson. I’m turning 30 this month and have been married to my handsome hunk for about 7 years. I have two little kiddos who are my world-Dawson and Sage. I grew up as a multi-sport athlete. Played Varsity basketball all four years of high school along with volleyball and softball. I took up running in college and have had a deep love for that since I started 10 years ago. After having 2 kids I was feeling a bit lost and not quite myself. I decided to zone deeply in on my health and my fitness. I certified as a HIGH Fitness Instructor and have been teaching that for the last 6 months! I'm also a certified health coach and completed my 2nd full marathon this last May. I’m also working towards my group fitness certification and certifying as a running coach. There is nothing better to me than to see people evolve to their best self and finding strength in themselves they didn’t think they had. On the side, if I’m not training for a race you can catch my family boating, camping or out riding the rzr! We love the outdoors!!
